Dear Members,
Welcome back! The Summer of 2010 is fast approaching and the Board of Directors
is looking forward to this being a fun-filled summer. We have added a new sun deck. portable basketball goal, ping pong table and a foosball table.
Dues for the 2010 season are $390 per membership and due between now and May 1 . There will be a $50 late fee
after May 1 and $150 fee after June 1. The enclosed Treasurer letter
includes all fees pertaining to the 2009 season. We really need your assistance
on timely payments because without your support we have limited funds available
to prepare the pool for opening day.
Mark your calendar for the opening of the pool on Saturday, May 29 from
11:00-8:00. We will
close the pool at 7:00 PM on Monday, September 6, 2010. (Labor Day).
In an effort to get the pool ready for opening day we will have 2 scheduled work
weekends (and 1 rain date). One member of each family must contribute a minimum of 2 hours or pay
the $75 work fee. The work weekend dates are as follows:
April 17 and 18 9:00-5:00 on Saturday 1:00-5:00 on Sunday
April 24 and 25 9:00-5:00 on Saturday 1:00-5:00 on Sunday
May 1 and 2 9:00-5:00 on Saturday 1:00-5:00 on Sunday (rain date only)
Please join us at a time that is convenient for you and bring any tools that you
may have that will help us get the pool ready. Wear your work clothes and be
prepared to get dirty. We look forward to seeing you at these workdays. Please
come and help make your pool look great for the new year.
The board is working hard to get the pool ready. We have a hired new management and staff for the coming year.. The
Swim Team rep is Eileen Bogardus. The Dive
Team rep is Eva Ingerson. If you are interested in joining either team please
contact a representative. The first practices at the pool will be Monday May 17
and the season concludes with City Meet July 9-11 at the Natatorium. The Board
is busy trying to finalize the rest of the staff and guards for the 2010 summer.
It would benefit everyone to increase our membership (so we don't increase dues
or cut services). Please let your friends and neighbors know about our pool.
Interested parties should contact our Membership Chairman Kim Blasingame @ 256 880-3682. Sally Wilson is busy planning our Open House for Memorial
Day weekend with a potluck picnic at noon on Memorial Day, Monday May 31. Please
invite and pass on the enclosed invitation to anybody you think might be
interested in joining our pool and let him or her know that they can swim free
of charge that weekend. Any family referring a new member will receive 10
free guest passes (a forty-dollar value). We have great plans for this
summer, which includes our annual 4th of July party(since it is falls on a Sunday we are going to celebrate onMonday the 5th at the pool), Movie Nights and other
family events.

all pool members. Also, please make sure we have your updated email address so
that we can effectively communicate with all of our members.
I have included a list of all nine members of the Board and the best way to
contact us should you need anything or have any questions or concerns. It is
your pool and with your help and input we can make the Summer of 2009 the best
ever. The Board and I are looking forward to a great summer. Please contact us
if you have any questions or concerns. We cannot fix "a problem" if we do not
know about it.
